This is Not Goodbye,
A Holistic Guide to Help Grieving Children
It's a gift to have an author who is able to provide personal, professional, and spiritual expertise in one of the most difficult human experiences – a grieving child.
Author Christine Sandor provides a gentle perspective filled with life experience and professional expertise. Sandor, a licensed clinical social worker and ordained minister, had to see her children through the loss of their father – a task no parent ever wishes to take on. She is able to take the reader through each and every step of the way – revealing her intimate thoughts, fears, and worries as she determines what to say to her children, how to say it, and what steps she should take with each child.
Each chapter in This is Not Goodbye is followed by two perspectives based on the events described within the chapter's pages. The "Professional Perspective" contains Sandor's expertise as a clinical social worker and her experience with trauma and grief counseling. The "Spiritual Perspective" allows readers to take advantage of her wisdom in ministry, and reveals how to guide children through this trauma with a loving and spiritual hand.
Sandor specializes in trauma, grief, and crisis work, and has been a child psychotherapist since 1994. After receiving a Masters Degree in social work, and serving as the director of an outpatient mental health clinic in Massachusetts, she is now in private practice, focusing primarily on children and teens who have experienced trauma in their young lives. She is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and uses a holistic approach to all treatment. Sandor has dedicated her 20+ year career to assisting others who face trauma and grief challenges in their lives.
As an ordained minister, Sandor's treatment focus includes the spiritual as well as the psychological aspects of healing. When appropriate, or at the request of a client, Sandor brings spirituality into the healing process. Holistic crisis work, trauma work, or grief counseling is all encompassing, meaning each aspect of the person—mind, body, and spirit—are considered during the healing process. Sandor brings an integrative approach to the processing and treatment of traumatic experiences.
Sandor is the author of Warming the Stone Children (PublishAmerica, 2006) and This is Not Goodbye: A Holistic Guide to Help Grieving Children (Windy City Publishers, 2009). In addition to her books, she has published multiple articles, available upon request. She is a professional speaker, focusing on topics related to trauma and crisis management. Sandor has also appeared on multiple radio shows. Links to archived interviews can be heard by clicking here.
Helping children deal with the death of a loved one is never an easy experience. Christine Sandor provides sound advice and suggestions to help one navigate through an incredibly difficult time. This is Not Goodbye is an excellent resource for not only a parent or caregiver, but for the professional community, as well.

Bradley is joined by Mother-Daughter Incest survivor, Psychotherapist and Author of Warming the Stone Children Christine Sandor. To date little has been documented about Mother-Daughter Incest. The reasons for this seems varied, some say its due to the under reporting of this type of abuse while others contend it may simply be due to the discomfort in exploring the subject. Whatever the reason, the fact remains that there are not a lot of resources for women abused by their mothers. An amazing true story of Mother-Daughter Incest that very well might help survivors and professionals through the incest healing process.
